The charger comes in a small, simple box. The box contains the charger, batteries (4xCR123A) and a USB cable. There is also a leaflet with extremely minimalistic instructions. Both charger and batteries make a solid impression.
The batteries included are based on Li-ion chemistry. Such batteries usually have a significantly higher capacity than batteries of the same size with Ni-MH. And they deliver a constant voltage of 3.7 V (which is controlled by electronics in the battery) until switched off (when they are empty). A flashlight will therefore not glow any weaker when the battery is exhausted, but will switch off abruptly — there is therefore no usual warning signal that the light is slowly weakening. This information can be very important, for example, when hiking in complete darkness. Suddenly the light is off and you see absolutely nothing anymore. It's happened to me before and I can confirm that it's extremely unpleasant. Since then, I haven't gone there without backup batteries.
The display is a backlit LCD. It shows the charge status for each individual inserted battery in 25% steps. The backlight cannot be switched off.
The bottom line is that this is a good set at a fair price that can be expected to last a long time.
This pack of six 3.7V rechargeable batteries offers good value for the money and works well in devices such as torches, headlights, and some remote-controlled vehicles. The advertised 3300 mAh capacity provides decent runtime, and having batteries charger in one pack is convenient for keeping spares charged and ready.
The batteries arrived charged and were easy to use straight out of the box. For light to moderate use, they performed satisfactorily and held their charge reasonably well.
